Once in Taiwan 2024
Bill just wrapped performing the Concert version of "Once: The Musical" in the National Taichung Theatre and Taipei Performing Arts Center in Taiwan, reprising his role as Da for the sixth time after the previous tour in China last December! The show was once again produced by Lambert Jackson Productions and directed by Dean Johnson, featuring the wonderfully talented Arthur Darvill and Inès De Clerq in the lead roles. Bill absolutely loved his time performing in Taiwan and the opportunity to revisit the show.

Evening Train
January this year, Bill spent a week in Doolin workshopping a new musical called 'Evening Train' directed by Julie Kelleher. It was a rare privilege to sing some of the incredible music of Mick Flannery and speak the words of the uniquely brilliant Ursula Rani Sarma, with casting by internationally renowned and all round wonderful woman Maureen Hughes. Looking forward to hopefully bringing this musical to the masses in the near future!

"Once in Concert" in China
Before Christmas, Bill spent two weeks in London rehearsing a new version of "Once: The Musical", entitled 'Once in Concert,' with Lambert Jackson Productions, this time with the truly brilliant Arthur Darvill andInès De Clerq playing the title roles, before heading off to China for a booked out six week tour, taking in Shanghai, Shen Zhen and Beijing. Bill absolutely loves playing the role of Da in this wonderful production written by Enda Walsh with music by Glen Hansard and on this occasion directed by Dean Johnson. This is Bill's fifth time in a role that he relishes and is grateful to Lambert Jackson for the opportunity!

Bill sings the Night Visiting Song and discusses the Preshow for "Once: The Musical"
From 2015 to 2017, Bill played the role of 'Da' in the Emmy Award-Winning "Once: The Musical"in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and the Lotte Theatre in Seoul in South Korea, directed by John Tiffany and produced by Landmark Productions Ireland. Bill Wraps Filming on RTE and New Zealand TV Series "The Gone"
Bill has just wrapped on a new TV Series called "The Gone", coproduced by Blinder Films and Kingfisher Films, which will air on RTE and New Zealand TV. It was shot in Dublin and New Zealand, and the series is directed by Peter Burger and Hannah Quinn, featuring a powerful cast led by Richard Flood, Acushla-Tara Kupe, Carolyn Bracken, Michelle Fairly and Wayne Hapi. Bill plays the role of Superintendent Walsh. He's pictured above with Peter Burger (left) and Richard Flood (right), on the last day of shooting on a freezing night in Dublin!

"Joyce's Women" opens at the Abbey Theatre
"Joyce's Women" had its opening night at the Abbey Theatre yesterday evening! The world premiere of this phenomenal show was attended by President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins, as well as the play's writer, Edna O'Brien. Bill Murphy portrays Zozimus (pictured above), the "Blind Bard of the Liberties". Joyce's Women received a standing ovation and was incredibly well received by all who attended Opening Night!

Bill starts rehearsals on Monday August 8th at the Abbey Theatre, Ireland's National Theatre, in a co-production between the Abbey Theatre and Eilene Davidson Productions called "Joyce's Women", playing the character of Zozimus in a new world premiere written by Edna O'Brien and directed by Conall Morrison, with musical direction by Conor Linehan!
